Teenage Brain - Dr. Dan Siegel.

Dr. Daniel Siegel is renowned for his work in interpersonal neurobiology. His contribution to the research of mindfulness is incredible. He is a leader in merging mindfulness and science together in a way that nobody else has.

In this episode I discuss with Dr. Daniel Siegel his most recent book, “Brainstorm: The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain.” The book highlights the positive qualities of being a teen—such as seeking novelty, a deep desire for experiences, curiosity, and big dreams.

It also explains in some basic scientific terms how the teen brain is wired, re-wiring, and growing. As a mentor for many teenagers, it was helpful to read the book to gain a deeper insight as to how I can listen, coach, and mentor the teens in my life.

In our interview we also go into what Dr. Daniel Siegel calls, Mindsight. A powerful method to help teens, parents, and individuals find more peace, calm introspection, and a deeper sense of groundedness in life.
