1) Availability: You have to verbally seek to make amends if there’s an alt between you and your spouse.

  • Being Emotionally Unavailable .. Occurs in short-term/long-term relationships
    • Unable or unwilling to share or express one's emotions with a spouse,
    • Being disconnected from one's own emotions.
    • Difficulty in forming close, meaningful relationship/marriage
    • Difficulty maintaining emotional intimacy with Spouse
    • Avoid emotional topics or distance themselves from their Spouse in
    • Protect themselves from being vulnerable or getting hurt They
    • Increased struggle to communicate their feelings or
    • Struggle with responding empathetically (the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.) to the feelings of your spouse

  • A few Causes for becoming unavailable
    • A POSTURE of Selfishness .. Your Spouse is not the Priority
    • Lack of trust due to previous relationship issues
    • Not learning from the past and repeating it in the marriage
    • Past trauma
    • Attachment issues
    • Personality traits
    • Complex issues
    • Poor parenting/childhood trauma
    • Depression or anxiety

  • Signs or Symptoms that you’ve lost communication with your spouse
    • Communication patterns are learned behaviors
      • The Silent Treatment / Stonewalling:

  • Spouse shuts down or
  • Spouse withdraws during a conversation
  • Often a response to conflict or intense emotions
  • Difficult to resolve issues or connect emotionally
