Veganism is not just restricted to following a certain kind of diet. It is more than that; it is a lifestyle. Similarly, vegan art promotes you to adopt veganism as a way of life. Millions of animals are slaughtered and tortured to satisfy our cravings and desires. It is easy to say that you love animals, but practicing something good for them is where the actual struggle starts. Join us, in this beautiful conversation with Isabella La Rocca González Isabella La Rocca González is an artist, writer, and activist based in the United States. Her work is part of a long tradition in art and photography: to bring to light and find beauty in the hidden, unconscious, or disregarded. As a first generation American, her work is deeply influenced by her Mexican and Italian roots. Awards for her work include the Ferguson Grant from the Friends of Photography in San Francisco, CA for excellence and commitment to the field of photography. Her photographs have been exhibited throughout the United States including a solo show at the Center for Photography in Woodstock, NY. The work La Rocca creates and exhibits is deeply informed by her intersectional social justice total liberation activism. Animal advocacy organizations she has provided pro bono still and motion picture photography for include Free From Harm, Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary, Millacayohtl/Seed the Commons, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Berkeley Animal Shelter, Oakland Animal Shelter, Global March for Elephants and Rhinos, Factory Farming Awareness Coalition, National Animal Rights Day, Earth Hour San Francisco, Duo Duo Project, Direct Action Everywhere, Farm Sanctuary Walk for Animals, and Goatlandia Animal Sanctuary.She received a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.F.A. in Photography from Indiana University. After almost thirty years of teaching art and photography on the post-secondary level, she has left academia to devote herself full-time to her art practice.
