It revolves around Ryan Straschnitzki's journey to try and make the National Team for Canada's wheelchair basketball game and a potential trip to Los Angels for the 2028 Paralympics. The former member of the Humboldt Broncos was paralyzed from the chest down in 2018, when a semi-trailer ran a stop sign and barrelled into the path of the junior hockey team's bus in rural Saskatchewan. THis interview has been re-edited to give you a look back into the past of where Anna was at and how she felt about the film at the time of its theatrical release. THE LOVE WITCH was an nearly 8 year passion project for Anna and it shows in every frame of the film. In the film Elaine (Samantha Robinson), a beautiful young witch, is determined to find a man to love her. In her gothic Victorian apartment she makes spells and potions, then picks up men and seduces them. However, her spells work too well, and she ends up with a string of hapless victims. When she at last meets the man of her dreams, her desperation to be loved drives her to the brink of insanity and murder. We discuss Anna's inspiration, her aesthetic sensibility, filming in 35 mm, why the project took so many years and more.
