For our X movie this week, we decided to watch the ever confusing X Past is Present.
This 2015 Hindi ... Thriller ? Was directed by 11 different people. Each chapter of the movie had a different director, which sounds crazy ... and it is.
We cant honestly say if this was a great idea or a terrible idea. Either way, we were entranced. This movie sucks you in by its constantly changing timelines and flashbacks. Leaving you utterly lost by the end the 'twist' ending.
Tune in to this episode if you want to listen to some notable sections I'm calling;
- A flashback... in a flashback?
- Is this a Brothel?
- Introduction of the Subtext Spider
- Working 8 till 8
- Is this Hindi 'Dawson's Creeks'?
- Who is Real?
- A Confusing Taxi Ride
and finally a Timeline of Confusion
In this episode we will state that the beginning has some rather loud audio from food wrappers too close to the mic and some naughty beagles. Somewhere in the beginning section there is also some loud sounds of the beagles playing with treat ball and moving the furniture around. But we promise this doesn't last too long.
Also worthy of note a TRIGGER WARNING for SA around the 1 hour 30 mark. You can hear the audio of the movie through us talking and could be distressing, so please fast forward a good 10 minutes if this would cause distress.
This movie is a 15 due to language use, assault and violence. As always our podcast is 16+ regardless of the movie due to our language and references.
We rated this movie a 9/10 ... not because the movie was amazing or anything like that but we rated it highly due to how enthralled we were by the story and we felt like you couldn't look away and we would definitely watch it again to try and make more sense out of it. Also we just had a great time.
So if you want to have your headbashed in with flashbacks and timelines, grab some snacks and Press...
