In this episode, we will discuss how to navigate around uncomfortable conversations, outing dirty laundry, and bring shameful of past decisions or family behavior at the holiday table. The holidays can be daunting for some people and It’s important we identify why we are feeling anxious and what are our hidden motives or intentions for acting out of character around the holiday table. Things you will learn within this episode: Completing a Temp Check prior to the family/friend gathering. Why Parental figures should not utilize their child(ren)’s successes to compensate for shortcomings or feelings of lack. Male Figures becoming attached to the traditional setting of not partaking in the holiday festivities. Become more hands-on during the holiday. Teens/Child(ren)’s negative experience should not become *filler topics to shame or highlight setbacks. Making the “right” recipe will not win over or bring value to a certain relative. Refrain from the family competition, you don’t have to outpray, or outshout, or shine each other. Respect any family members that have had any personal challenges and be mindful of any trigger topics or activities that can stir any feelings of guilt, shame, or stress.
