Welcome back to the team room! It's the whole squad with special guest, Project One Vet at a Time (POVAT) program director, Mr. Lyle Rosin!
Lyle Rosin, a former first sergeant in the Air Force, shares his experiences managing the welfare of 626 security forces members in Camp Bucca, Iraq. He emphasizes the importance of building a strong team and relying on trusted individuals. Rosin also discusses his involvement with POVAT (Project One Vet at a Time), a nonprofit organization that helps veterans navigate the process of receiving VA compensation and pension ratings. The organization provides financial assistance and aims to raise awareness and revenue to continue its mission.
POVAT, founded by Chief Master Sergeant Will Markham and a team of dedicated individuals, offers support and guidance to veterans, covering the costs of filing claims, medical visits, and other expenses. The organization is committed to ensuring that veterans receive the benefits they deserve based on their individual circumstances. They emphasize the importance of each veteran's unique experiences and provide resources and events to raise funds for their mission. The average cost to put someone through the project is around $10,500, but the increased lifetime financial benefit to the veteran can range from $460,000 to over $1 million.
Project OVAT is dedicated to helping veterans and active duty service members navigate the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to receive the compensation and pension they deserve. They provide individualized care, resources, and events to raise funds for their mission.
