Welcome back Box Owners! This week we welcome back the CEO of Idea To Launch Agency/Academy, Podcast host, and a former Period, Sis guest, Carla Wilmaris. Contrary to popular belief, the baby doesn’t pop out of the womb and start drinking milk from the nipples seamlessly, it’s a process. In this episode, Carla and I discuss the controversy around breastfeeding in public and the overall challenges women face while breastfeeding. Carla shares the pain and discomfort while getting the baby to latch properly and the impact that stress can have on a woman’s milk production. This learning process for both Mom and baby can cause a lot of stress and frustration. In Carla’s words “we both don’t know what the fuck we are doing.” She talks about needing support from her doula and spouse while trying to breastfeed and shares how often she’s wanted to give up. Tune in to learn about the healing properties in breast milk, baby bonding, and how truly magical breasts are! If you know someone who is breastfeeding please send this to them.
