There are a lot of unspoken, even unrecognized, assumptions when we think about how individuals respond to training. Regarding gender, we think we know how females will adapt to training compared to males, but are these assumptions valid?
Lauren Colenso-Semple, a PhD in muscle physiology, sits down to chat about her work and the larger body of literature examining how females adapt to training. We also single in on the menstrual cycle, specifically how fluctuations in hormones influence the adaptive response.
Enjoy.
