Dr. Archer has extensive experience in public health, having served as Chief of Staff for a member of the House Appropriations Committee and Commissioner of Health at the Texas Department of Health among many other leadership roles both consulting and operations. CyncHealth is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2008 with a mission to help providers in Nebraska exchange healthcare data and provide holistic care to patients. During the episode, the guests discuss the novel concept of health savings accounts at the community level, which incentivizes typically underserved areas to take ownership of their health plan and outcomes. The guests also explore the role of information technology in promoting health equity and reducing disparities. The use of technology in healthcare can help to address disparities by providing access to information and resources that were previously unavailable to underserved populations. Additionally, by enabling providers to exchange health data, patients receive more comprehensive care, and providers can make more informed treatment decisions.
