This week, I break down a little bit in recounting the effect that a great person, an angel to me has had on my life.
I come to you to unpack the scientific and very real effect of what others do that have a far reaching impact on our lives, it is termed the Butterfly Effect.
So, "In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. (Wikipedia, 2023)

Simply put, the butterfly effect on a world level, means that the small random things we do can have an impact on a grand scale, in fact it means that we are connected more than we think we are. And it gives a huge value to our connectivity.
I also share some research from MIT on this concept of the Ripple Effect that is connected to the concept of the very real Butterfly Effect. I unpack this theory with two primary stories, one on the impact of someone's kindness towards me and the other, a story of how my 30-Day Challenge as an offering for my Camino de Santiago Walk impacted a dear friend to do their own version of the challenge.
I also offer a way on how you can create your butterfly effect:

1. Decide to give, start with something that tugs at you and takes you outside yourself to help someone else, a person, an animal, nature, the universe

2. Act, give with no strings, no conditions

3. Whenever doubt sets in, ask yourself, what would love do
Have a beautiful week everyone, spread the kindness and share this episode with your family and friends.
