Cinema Review - Les Misarables

les-miserables

Directed By: Tom Hooper
Written By: William Nicholson
Starring: Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne

It is one of the most successful musicals ever made and after a non-musical film starring Geoffrey Rush in 1998 comes a film to capture the excitement of the stage show. Following the story a Jean Valjean who is hunted by policeman, Javert, after he breaks parole and has to take care of the daughter of a factory worker. This was filmed in a very unique way with Tom Hooper capturing his actors signing live on set rather then lip-synching to a backing track. Did this gamble work? Kat and Tristan discuss.

Feature: 2012 Audio Retrospective
