In This Episode:
Tyler and Mike welcome to the Richest Men In Town podcast John Garbett. John wastes no time sharing his love for George Bailey and the values that he personifies. It turns out, that John has spent his entire life working with teams of people to tell powerful stories. For 25 years, as an agent of change, John led creative development and production management teams for DreamWorks SKG, MGM/UA, Warner Bros, Universal, Amblin Entertainment and Disney. His projects included “The Disney Sunday Movie”, “Father of the Bride”, “The Frighteners”, “The Matrix” and the Academy Award-winning “Shrek”. In his "fourth act" he has dedicated his life to helping those that struggle with substance abuse and addiction. He created the groundbreaking “12 Steps to Change” addiction recovery video series and other behavioral health-related media and curriculum for the LDS Church. In their time with John, the guys dive deep into all kinds of topics including:

  • Living our values
  • "Congruence"
  • Always seeking
  • Creativity
  • Story-telling
  • Empathy and compassion

Our perspective changes as we have new experiences and listeners are going to have an unforgettable experience listening and learning from John's rich life. To Kristin and John, thank you for the good that you are doing. It matters so keep going!

Quotes...

  • "It is not the things we do in life that we regret on our deathbed. It is the things we do not. I assure you I've done a lot of really stupid things, and none of them bother me. All the mistakes, and all the dopey things, and all the times I was embarrassed — they don't matter. What matters is that I can kind of look back and say: Pretty much any time I got chance to do something cool I tried to grab for it — and that's where my solace comes from." -Randy Pausch
