Welcome to another episode of "She's in Focus", but today it's "They're in Focus" a podcast dedicated to inspiring and empowering #filmmakers and #videographers from all walks of life and on every step of their creative journey.

*trigger warning: We discuss topics of mental health, eating disorders, self-harm, etc. Please do not watch this episode if you feel it will cause you any distress.

In this episode Kel sits down with Daph Levy - an anti-diet eating-disorder recovery mentor, fat activist, and video media producer based in Boston, MA. As a person who identifies as queer, fat, and Latinx, Daph strives to offer a unique perspective on how to view health and creativity. Daph expresses their passion for helping others by sharing the stories of individuals who are traditionally marginalized and/or excluded.

On their YouTube channel they dive deep into topics including mental health, media production, and life as an entrepreneur - all within the context of their eating disorder recovery. With a passion for storytelling and technology, Daph uses their creative skills in editing softwares and video production to create high-quality, thought-provoking, and cinematic videos while offering remote and in-person video production services.

In this episode they discuss:
- Daph's journey to finding community in the filmmaking space when holding marginalized identities
- How Daph copes with lack of sense of community (maladaptive & healthy coping skills)
- Handling the pressure of balancing creative business and mental health issues
- What a "safe space" really looks like
- Seeking help for mental illness as an adult - how to ask for help
- Raising awareness on how you're feeling - skills we've used
- Finally getting the help you need
- How Daph's mental health journey led them to video
- Where Daph is on their journey with YouTube now
- Finding ways to create when you can't bring yourself to do it - even when you really want to
- Eliminating the barriers to creating content
- How DoubleVisionMedia was born and where the company is today
- Where Daph plans to take the company and the projects they plan to work on
- Where you can support Daph as a filmmaker
