Learning a New Language (Spanish)
Manage episode 377379318 series 3339406
Having “attempted” to learn different languages in school (French, German, Irish) for 6-14 years and being left with diddly-squat (diddly-kniebeuge for our German speakers) it’s hard to not assume you’re just generally sh*te at learning languages.
It’s not until you’re older and have money to travel that you realise just how useful it would have been if you really did try harder when you were given the opportunity. Idiota!
Another successful slap in the face, hindsight. Thank you again.
But look! It’s never too late.
Lots of people share the ambition of properly communicating with a foreigner. And by now we’ve all realised that speaking progressively slower and louder in English doesn’t work.
So, it’s about time. We're living in Spain for a couple of months and have the perfect excuse.
What we know already - Hola Señor. ¡Andale! ¡Andale! Arriba! Arriba! - definitely won’t get us far. But let’s hope by the end of this episode we’ve got a plan to turn that around.
Listen in if you're also shamefully unilingual and might want to change that some day.
¡Vamos!
