Should You Bother with Stoicism: Can It Change Your Life?
Manage episode 364699904 series 3339406
Ever heard of Seneca or Marcus Aurelius or Ryan Holiday coming up in conversation? If so, you’ve probably been partially exposed to Stoic Philosophy. It’s very like that you zoned out during the conversation, but if not, you may have picked up some nuggets of wisdom.
In this episode, we’re looking into exactly what it means to be stoic. People have been claiming it’s “saved” or “changed” their lives and it’s definitely something you’ll hear CEOs and influencers mention. So is it worth jumping on this philosophical bandwagon?
We start from the beginning, discussing the origins and purpose of Stoicism. We mention a few stoic quotes written by the Stoic OGs. And we talk about how people use it in the modern day, including how it impacted us over 1 week of practicing it. So we’ve got all stoic bases covered.
Best case scenario - we have a free, low commitment, life-changing practice to add to our “feel good” arsenal. Worst case - we call it a load of sh**e but potentially grow a bit wiser. So what’s there to lose?
Wondering if you should bother too? Well this “enlightening episode” may shift your opinion and maybe even, the way you view the world.
Liked this episode or have a suggestion for something we should bother doing? We’d love your review!
