During this episode, I talk with Montoyia McGowan (she/her), LCSW, about the importance of what Montoyia calls "Bougie Boundaries". Many entrepreneurs struggle with codependency and it shows up and impacts our businesses and life balance in a variety of ways. Montoyia opens up about her own struggles with codependency and how she has healed and now thrives in her practice.
Montoyia McGowan is the owner and Chief mental wellness therapist of Stopping the Chase Counseling and Consulting in Memphis, TN. She helps empower creatives, artists and entrepreneurs to stop the mentally exhausting cycle of chasing people, places, things and relationships we often feel would contribute to our happiness.
Montoyia is also the host of Bougie Black Therapist Podcast where she interviews entrepreneurs and other clinicians to help inspire therapists during the process of starting and maintaining their own business. She desires to help make therapy an important aspect of self-care.
