The Silence the Shame Podcast is back with a new Guest Host, L.ife, and she sits down with the Founder and CEO of Color My Story, Jasmine Coer, and Silence the Shame's very own Creative Director, Maegan-Charjoi Pringle. These ladies discuss the impact of Seasonal Affective Disorder, also known as Seasonal Depression, how mental health has influenced their paths in life, and their continuous journey of healing and wellness. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that occurs at a certain time of year, usually in the winter when there is less natural sunlight. It is believed to be related to changes in light exposure, which can affect the body's internal clock and lead to feelings of depression. Signs and symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder include: Feeling depressed most of the day, nearly every day Losing interest in activities you once enjoyed Low energy Changes in appetite or weight Difficulty sleeping or oversleeping Feeling agitated or sluggish Difficulty concentrating Feeling hopeless or worthless Thoughts of death or suicide It's important to note that these symptoms occur at the same time each year and go away at other times of the year. If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms, it's important to seek help from a mental health professional. If you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis, dial 9-8-8 to receive support through the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline Video and Audio Production by Spellz Productions.
