When most people think of therapy, whats often envisioned is talking to a man lying on a couch, and now through our phones. But the therapy we often envision is whats considered talk therapy. Which has remained largely unchanged since Freud.
Now we have new types of therapy, that are directed to solving our problems ourselves by focusing on skill development. There are a few kinds of these directed therapies. There is ACT CBT DBT EMDR and others.
Today's topic is DBT. In this episode you'll find out who DBT is for, what it can help, who invented it and why its my favorite form of therapy for myself and for the modern world. Therapy no longer has to be telling a stranger about your childhood.
