John Thomas Griffith is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and the founder of ISourceMusic.com. He was one of the founding members of both the Red Rockers and Cowboy Mouth, collectively recording over 20 albums and three solo albums. He has toured with Joan Jett, Men at Work, The Go-Gos, U2, and others. Originally from Lubbock, Texas, JTG, as he is often referred to, was inducted into the Buddy Magazine Texas Guitar Players Hall of Fame in 2001.
We start this episode by talking about the origins of Cowboy Mouth and then jump into JTG's beginning in the music industry, from his early days playing the piano as a youth to the formation of his first band, Red Rockers. He shares what it was like when his album hit the billboard in '83, and he lets us in on some experiences he had with fellow artists on the journey, some of which you might know. He offers advice for anyone starting in the industry;
*be persistent
*believe in yourself
*do your due diligence
*be positive.
We round out this episode by sharing our purpose at Starter Girlz, and JTG shares his discovery of the law of manifestation, closing with "be careful what you wish for."
