The Bit Players delve into madness, madness with their podcast on David Lean's 1957 World War II film, The Bridge on the River Kwai. With the film being the second Lean picture that they've covered, they discuss a lot of comparisons with the first, Lawrence of Arabia, and the ways that the director seems to portray flawed protagonists in a relatable way. This film in particular offers one of the more unique takes on morality that the guys can remember, with Alec Guinness expertly playing the poop-covered British officer doing his damnedest to avoid working under the warm blanket of the Geneva Convention.
