Welcome back! Thanks for joining us for Episode 19.

Our hot topic for this episode is Kristi and Dana's epic road trip from Charlotte, NC to Denver, CO! We'll be talking about some of the cool yarn shops we stopped at along the way and Dana's hunt for some Find Your Fade yarn. As usual, we'll be catching up on our regular segments for WIPs, FOs, and Stash Enhancements, too.

Don't forget to take advantage of the generous coupon code from Silly Sheep Designs. Our listeners can get 10% off any purchase of $10 or more with the code thecraftyhive. Thanks Wanda!

All of our show notes are given below, with information and links to what we discussed in this episode. Let us know if you can't find any information you need.

As always, we would love to hear from you! Is there a topic you would like us to discuss next? Are there any excellent tips or items we should check out? Please feel free to leave a comment, contact us on Ravelry (either by message or in the group), or drop us a note through the Contact page.

We hope you enjoy the episode. Please stay tuned for more crafty goodness, coming to your earbuds soon!

What We're Working On (a.k.a. WIPs):

What We've Finished (a.k.a. FOs):

What We Couldn't Resist (a.k.a. Stash Enhancement):

  • Dana got lots of fun yarn during the road trip (click here to see all of it!). Most of it was for a Find Your Fade Shawl. The picture below shows the final selections in the order they will be used in the shawl. She also picked up an awesome crewel embroidery kit of an adorable sleeping kitty (which you can get here). See below for a snapshot of my small start on the embroidery!
  • Kristi purchased a set of planet stitch markers from Wanda at Silly Sheep Designs. Kristi also purchased a shawl pin from Gen at Ridiculously Cute. Kristi won a prize of sparkle yarn in the coral reef colorway and a Knitter's Pride needle Sampler for a KAL from Maylin at Tri'CoTerie. Kristi also went to Charlotte Yarn for the launch of their in house line of yarn called Ava Lu. She bought 2 skeins of sparkle yarn and a third skein of Junkyarn which is also created by a NC dyer.

All the gifts <3

As Kristi's departure for Denver loomed large, many of her wonderful friends gave her some thoughtful and generous gifts. Susan gave her a gorgeous crocheted hat and a lovely skein of Miss Babs Yowza in the Joan of Arc colorway. Our good friend Amy asked Wanda to make some crafty hive stitch markers and gave us each a set! Kristi's friend Loretta generously shared a bunch of her yarn crawl winnings with Kristi. Some of the ladies Kristi's knits with in Gastonia got her some lovely gifts including a special yarn colorway by Crystal at Mythic Cache Fibers, Kristi's favorite loose leaf tea, and handmade goodies like project bags and stitch markers. Kristi's really good friend Jenny sent her a package of yarny and nerdy goodness from Stitches Midwest. The package even included 2 confetti poppers for Kristi to celebrate leaving her old place and arriving at the new one! Last but definitely not least is the amazing box of road trip goodies that Wanda sent. Kristi forgot to take a picture of everything opened because she was happily weeping, but there are amazing treats like a road atlas, mad libs, a hiking bag and water bottle, stitch markers, pins, lollipops. I'm blown away by the love my friends have shown me at a very stressful point in my life. I can't thank you all enough!
