Within the self-development community, it seems as though everybody is always talking about the ego. Unfortunately, they aren’t all saying the same thing, which can make it even more confusing.

Do we need to embrace our ego? Outsmart our ego? Integrate it? Transcend it? Kill it? Is the ego even real?

For as long as we have a body, we will have an ego.

Some of us will experience the ego differently, and as our level of awareness changes, so will the way we relate to our ego. But it’s not going anywhere, and if the ego is always going to be a part of our lives, we might as well get clear on what it is and why it matters.

This week on The DEEP Life Dan & Elise go DEEP on the ego, specifically looking at what they mean when they refer to and discuss it.

Throughout the conversation, they do their best to make sense of and explain a very nuanced topic and explore different aspects that have helped them to make sense of this reality.

This episode refers frequently to the philosopher & spiritual teacher Alan Watts (specifically episode 2 of his 1972 series ‘The Essential Lectures of Alan Watts’ titled Ego) who has had a strong influence on how both Dan & Elise view the world.
