Join us as we sit down with Jolie Wermter, a bi-racial daughter to Claire and second-generation Korean Adoptee, for a captivating conversation about what being Korean means to her, and how she has navigated the complexities of her unique journey.

As a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, Jolie has dedicated her career to promoting understanding and fostering connections. Her experiences at the University of Virginia, where she moderated multiple retreats and delved deep into the complexities of intersectional identity, played a significant role in shaping her perspective. In her role as a DEI intern at Google, Jolie spearheaded initiatives focused on designing for inclusion and advocating for emerging best practices within workplace design and policy.

As a member of The Empowered Adoptee Retreat Leadership team and a speaker at the KAAN, 2024 conference, Jolie is eager to share her insights and connect with others who have been impacted by adoption. Alongside her mother Claire, they will be presenting on the topic, Family, Culture, Identity: Generational Adoption Impacts.
