Perfectionism is really more about associating a lot of your worth by associating it with how you look and perform. Although we know perfection isn’t a reality, many people struggle with that self trust and seek that external validation. When we feel we aren’t perfect, we suffer the feelings of guilt and shame. In today’s episode we are talking to Grace Brodeur, who is a professional who helps professionals break procrastination and perfectionism tendencies so that they can feel fulfilled, calm and competent. During our conversation, Grace shares her experience pivoting from engineering into focusing on a service based business. She speaks on getting over the fear of putting herself out there, the first steps you can take to recover from perfectionism and the link between perfectionism and procrastination. In this episode we cover:
  • Grace shares how more about her career as a coach and starting her own business [1:16]
  • What is perfectionism and how can you recover from it? [7:41]
  • The biggest struggle perfectionists face [14:52]
  • How to stop avoiding things for fear of not having the perfect outcome [19:49]
  • The link between perfectionism and procrastination [25:06]
  • Perfectionism and ADHD [39:09]
