Let me introduce you to my friend Steph Alksne - a high school chaplain, and hairdresser. Steph lived through some pretty rough stuff growing up and shares with us her story of how Jesus saved her, how she met her husband AND the journey that she has been on, of healing from past trauma. Steph gives us some real encouragement from her own experience and from her faith in God. Let me tell you, the day that we recorded this we had to keep re-starting because her cute little puppy kept interrupting us (shout out to Oakley) and after we finished recording I actually gave Steph a hi-five because I loved our conversation. I know that so many people will connect with her experience and be blessed by what she has to say so here’s my conversation with Steph.

What has helped her along her healing journey:

  • Counselling, people, her husband, God, gratefulness

“You are valued, you are loved, you have a purpose.”

“Just because you know Jesus doesn’t mean your life is perfect.”

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

“And the grace that God had for my Dad, helped me to love my Dad with unconditional love.”
