“We can discover and experience joy in a variety of ways—doing those things we love to do, growing in intimacy or providing for others, and clarifying and coherently pursuing our values.”

-Pamela Ebstyne King, Ph.D.

What brings you joy?

For you, it could be spending time with family or friends.

It could be getting some alone time away from everyone else.

It could be certain activities or events.

Today, on Episode #54 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are diving into our July Joy list.

(And if you’re sitting there saying, “Wait, Lorrie, I don’t have a July Joy list” …No worries! We will take care of that today. 😉)

If you listened to and followed along with Episode #38, we talked about visualizing our perfect summer using to-do lists and researching vacation spots.

Our joy list is just a more targeted version of this visualization. It’s all about you!🙌

So, think about it. Take 5 minutes and jot down a list of things and activities that spark joy for you.

Some things that bring me joy are:

  • Sitting on the patio in the summer evening
  • Taking a family camping trip
  • Traveling solo down South to visit new cities and old friends
  • Kayaking with my hubby (also a great upper body workout!💪)

Your list can include one-and-done activities like taking a bucket list trip.

It can include seasonal activities like gardening or boating.

But it can also include things you want to incorporate into your habits all year round like enjoying a cup of coffee or tea in your favorite chair each morning or having family game night every Friday.

The scope of your joy is only limited to your imagination, so be open to the possibilities around you every day.

Now grab your list - even if it’s just in progress - and join me for a few moments of joy!🤗
