On this week's episode of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are diving into what habits and routines we can shift - or even delete🤔 - to shake up our spring and summer.🌷

Now, you may be asking yourself:

“Why shift or change anything in the Spring? I mean, what's in it for me?”🤷‍♀️

The simple fact that our routines are routines means it is hard for us to just to change them up!😣

But spring is a natural time to clear out the cobwebs🕸️ gathering on our winter habits and routines.

Just like a little spring cleaning🧹 refreshes our closets, cabinets and garages; some “zhuzhing up” of our foods🍎, beverages🍵, activities🏃‍♀️ and self-care practices🧖‍♀️ can breathe new life into our minds and bodies.

For instance, now is the time we begin to shed our winter coats, gloves🧤 and scarves in favor of a light jacket (or none at all).

So instead of cozying up in a thick sweater, you might pull out your favorite t-shirt or flowy dress💃, slip it on and relish the cool feeling against your skin.☺️

Additionally, you might find that your fave winter foods don't taste as good as they did😖 a couple of months ago.

Those thick, creamy soups and stews that once comforted and soothed you start leaving you feeling bogged down and sluggish.🫣

Try lightening things up by shifting to chicken broth or chicken🐔 soup, which is both cleansing and clearing.

Pause and think about the things that your body is craving in this season:

  • The fresh air and breeze
  • The sounds of nature coming alive🐦
  • Cooling beverages (green tea and water with lime)
  • Lighter meals
  • More time in the sunshine🌞

Crack a window in the morning.

Swap your oatmeal for a green smoothie.

Split up your exercise so you take advantage of the warmer evenings and morning sunshine.

As always, play around and choose something that works for you and where you are in this chapter. 😃

Have fun!
