In this week’s episode Eoin chats with Ryan Taylor (@ryancbtaylor).
Ryan is from the UK and has been living with Diabetes since the age of 10. He is a personal trainer, nightclub promoter and actor. He is also a reality TV star who was featured on MTV’s Geordie Shore.
Ryan tells us about an ‘issue with his leg’, which started as an infection that quickly turned to sepsis, which then spiralled to even more severe symptoms, pain and consequences.
Ryan spent days in hospital, weeks ‘pumped with morphine and painkillers’, excessively high blood sugars where he needed up to 50 units of insulin in a single dose, followed by consistent low blood sugars when he didn’t need any insulin at all.
Eoin is rarely speechless during an episode of the podcast, but this week was different.
As always, be sure to rate, comment, subscribe and share. Your interaction and feedback really helps the podcast. The more Diabetics that we reach, the bigger impact we can make!
