Welcome to The Manufictioners Club, a podcast that explores the business behind some of your favorite fictional technology. Everyone likes to think about the cool gadgets and gizmos science fiction has to offer, but we’re here to talk about just how all of it would get made. Each episode, the crew breaks down a different element of the product development process and gets way off into the weeds with all sorts of nerdy goodness.

In this episode, Karl, Zaheen, and Sean analyze the core problem that Dr. Steven Strange has to solve - his injury. They talk about the differences between how Dr. Strange deals with his predicament in the original 1963 comics as compared to the 2016 movie. They also discuss Dr. Strange’s origin in the Marvel universe, the “white-washing” of East Asian culture in the comics, and the potential reasons as to why Clarion Ouzo created magic in the first place.
