Today we’re talking about the idea of “female autism” and the genderization of neurodivergence in general, and why I think it’s problematic and unhelpful.

Quick acknowledgment: There are many presentations of autism. This discussion is not meant to dismiss anyone’s presentation of autism or neurodivergence. This discussion is meant to provide some nuance and context for why it can be problematic and unhelpful to categorize something as female vs male when it comes to neurodivergence.
