Can you believe it's 2023? The last 3 years have been… WILD. Today, I'm going to be talking about the lessons I've learned even through all the crazy ups and downs; Lessons I've learned about society, myself, and God.
Here's the lesson I've learned about society...
Lesson #1 - People are sheep. Maybe you've heard that saying: When disaster strikes, you are propelled forward in the direction you were already going. I think the pandemic revealed a lot of the brokenness that already existed in our world and how it functions. When we feel threatened or afraid, we scatter everywhere, follow anyone, and don't ask the right questions. We start bickering, blowing people off, and get offended at every turn. We fall into manipulation, allow ourselves to be brainwashed and fall prey to corruption. WE ARE A MESS.
Here's the lesson I've learned about myself...
Lesson #2 - I need to take personal responsibility. I must vet what I consume, and think for myself. It's time we all take charge of our personal lives! Most of us can probably agree that corporations, organizations, associations -- YES, even political parties, DON'T CARE about us as individuals. They are so far removed from our day-to-day lives. Let's stop lying to ourselves! Let's take ownership of our convictions and choose to live them out - be TRUE to ourselves and realize that the health and wellness of our immediate community is really what matters. This does not mean we must be extremely individualistic. But it does mean we are called to be the gatekeepers of our homes, families, and local community.
Here's the lesson I've learned about God...
Lesson #3 - God is in control. Even when it was difficult to believe this truth, I can now realize that He answered my prayers, kept His promises, and showed me immeasurable grace throughout the 3 last years. I've found myself weeping before God, thanking Him for all He's blessed me with - ashamed at how I could have missed it all in my selfish complaining.
Isaiah 46:9-10
Philippians 4:6-7
Psalm 23:2-3
There's so much within our control. And yet, one of the critical components of living that "next-level" life is in the concept of surrender. Surrendering your life -- the parts of it you can't control -- entirely to Jesus Christ. If we would just allow Him to lead us to rest. Why not ask Him to give you that peace that passes all understanding.
Friend... that's a promise He will keep.
Be a positive force within healthcare and society.
