In this episode, Shereel shares herbal wisdom honoring her lineage of healing with Black Elders and why having a multicultural knowledge of plants helps us to understand them more fully. She also offers historical and familial stories of plants that she loves, and tips for people who would like to connect with a more multicultural approach to herbalism.
Shereel is an instructor at the Berkeley Herbal Center, Scarlet Sage's Community Classes, the Land of Verse Apprentice Herbal Certification Program, and at the Northern California Women’s Herbal Symposium (NCWHS).
She is a speaker and was a guest panelist for the Sonoma County Herb Exchange Live Virtual Panel: “Honoring The Roots,” Naomi Love’s: Wise Womb Way Virtual Symposium, and a three-time panelist on Women of Color: “Do You Walk In Our Shoes'' and "Sprouting Liberation" at the NCWHS.
Shereel also teaches Dance and Qigong at the Deep Root Center for Spiritual Studies MOVE: Spirit & Rhythm Dance Program in Oakland, CA, and she is the Founder of Ixalted natural body care & botanicals.
