Continuing Black History Month we are celebrating the hero that has been lost to the pages of history and deserves to have her name shouted from the rooftops. This week we talk about the incredible Mary Seacole. A Jamaican Nurse and healer, her contribution to the British Army during the Crimean War is rarely discussed. After being rejected by the British Army and the Nurses, she travelled to Crimea herself and set up the British Hotel off of her own back to treat the wounded. An absolute hero that all of us should know about and celebrate.
