Two part series: Micky does not hold back in this interview. He shares his highs and lows as an athlete in the sport of professional motocross and in life. Micky is a former Honda factory rider who won two 125 MX championships: 1986 and 1987. Prior to this he rode for Maico and Husqvarna. Micky is also a Supermoto unlimited champion, Pikes Peak champion/record holder and Baja 1000 class champion. He competed in the 2014 Race Across America (RAAM) as a member of a four man team along with greats such as Ben Bostrom, Dave Mirra and Dave Zabriskie. In 2017, he completed another RAAM event, but this time with motocross stars, David Baily, Doug Henry and Jeff Ward. Micky details in this episode the grueling nature of RAAM and how it breaks you down physically and mentally. He is an author of “The Legends of The Road,” which provides an in depth look at what it was like to be a competitor in RAAM and then race Pikes Peak immediately with no rest. He formed a bond and brotherhood with his fellow team members that no one can break. Micky is a proud supporter of Road 2 Recovery which provides assistance to AMA licensed professional motocross/supercross riders and action sports professionals in the event they sustain career ending injuries.
