When we take off our rose-colored glasses and examine our childhood, we may notice many dysfunctional traits in our family. It’s not a topic we readily want to share with the public, much less admit it to ourselves. Once we wake up to the realization that our childhood was less than a stellar experience, it is a long healing journey to break generational barriers, make peace with our past, and move forward with our future.

On this episode of the WHoly Mom Chat, I sit down with Demetria Buie to discuss how she overcame her experiences growing up in a dysfunctional family and how she processed her healing.

Demetria is a businesswoman, author, mentor, and international speaker who lives in the Louisiana area. As a junior high school dropout and two-time divorcee,

Buie could have let her circumstances affect her life negatively; instead, she used her experiences to enrich her life and the lives of others. Buie chose to follow the path God laid out for her, never letting anything slow her down. After being called to ministry and seeking the Kingdom, Buie started crafting courses and books to inspire women from broken backgrounds. Being able to help others is a gift, and Buie loves to lift and empower women from all over the world with her words. She hosts conferences and retreats for female entrepreneurs in business and ministry all over the country. One of her biggest joys in life is family and her handsome son.
