This week we had the honor of being in conversation with Jasiri X. He is a hip-hop artist and activist who gained national notoriety for his song, "Free the Jena 6." He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Robert Rauschenberg Award. In addition to creating music, Jasiri is the co-founder of 1Hood Media , a collective of socially conscious artists and activists who utilize art to raise awareness of issues impacting marginalized communities.
