Episode highlights:
05:45 – You do not realize you’re being abused when in the moment. And you think it’s your fault. The first relationship really damaged my self esteem and made me feel like it was my fault, and that I had to be ashamed and I had to hide it.
08:15 – I still struggle with trust issues with everybody in my life. Even at work. I still do have a lot of trust issues and a lot of triggers.
22:04 – There are different kinds of abuse, but it manifests in its survivors the same. There are trust issues, fear, struggles. Your family and people you love are supposed to make you feel safe and secure.
25:24 – The night that actually made me decide – if I don’t leave, I won’t survive this, I won’t see my thirties. I seriously thought he was going to kill me.
