Highlights

03:13 As survivors we stand together and we’re stronger when we’re working together and doing this important work which you know, I finally know. I’m 50 years old, I finally know what I want to be when I grow up and that’s an advocate. Not only for myself but to allow myself with others that are doing this important work because it is taboo or people try to shush, shush up or don’t talk about it.

03:48 There's power in a story, a power using our voice.

04:24 There is so much healing and power from survivors and survivors of any kind of violence, whether it is domestic or sexual assault or other things like that, in sharing and telling your stories.

13:36 Take your time with healing. I’m thankful that you’re here admitting that because a lot of people don’t want to admit that–that they think it’s a magical thing that just happens. No, it’s a process.

38: 59 I forgave because there is more power in it for me. To be able to move on and to excel in my own life that I’m not harboring and holding on and being bitter and angry towards it–because that energy is not what I need in my life.
