Dr Leila Dehghan is a doctor turned nutritionist and personal trainer. Her debilitating migraines compelled her to quit her medical career. Adopting a vegan lifestyle eventually healed her migraines by following a whole food plant-based diet. Now, as an educator she enjoys spreading awareness about the benefits of plant-based diets for athletes and other health-conscious individuals. Join us as she: · Reveals the unique advantages of plant-based diets for athletes · Explains the nutrient requirements for plant-based athletes · How to address common concerns and misconceptions about plant-based diets for athletes Lelia holds a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate at eCornell, affiliated with Cornell University, and a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition from the University College of London. As an amateur martial artist she takes a keen interest in sports nutrition and has previously contributed to a clinical handbook by authoring the chapter "Plant-based nutrition for Athletes" and have also developed a lecture on the topic for the short course on Plant-Based Nutrition at the University of Winchester.
