  • History of distillery
    • owner/s- Jorg Rupf
      • Came here as the youngest judge for the ministry of culture from Germany
    • When it was founded-1982, less than 20 distilleries in the country at that time
      • First product was eau de vie, a colorless fruit brandy
        • eau de vie is french for “water of Life”
      • 2004 it moved to Alameda Naval Air station, where they have a 65,000 Sq FT Airplane hanger to fill!
      • 2007 they released the first legal Absinth since it was banned in 1912
    • Where it was founded
      • Alamenda, CA

    • Why they chose to start
      • Jorg distilled in Germany as a hobby, and coming here he couldn't get his eau de vie, so he started making his own.

        • Japanese highball is 2 oz japanese whisky over ice, fill with sparkling water

      • 100% malted Barely, Mostly 2 row pale malted
      • Aged in Used Bourbon and French oak wine casks

        • Omeshu is a plum liquor and this one was made from california grown Ome fruit
          • Ome fruit is what they call a plum but it is closer to an apricot
    • Who made it
      • Lance Winters is distiller
        • Joined in 1996 with a jar of homemade whiskey as his resume
