For American women today, working out is as accepted as it is expected, fueling a multibillion-dollar industry. But it wasn’t always this way. For much of the 20th century, sweating was considered unladylike, and girls grew up believing physical exertion would cause their uterus to literally fall out. Danielle’s book, digs deep into the history of women’s fitness and how it has evolved from a beauty tool promoted to “reduce” towards a path of promoting mental, emotional and physical well-being.
