Dr. Dave is rounding out his three-peat performance on the YTP, having been the star of episode 166 back in 2019, then alongside his incredible wife, Dr. Lindsay, in 2020 for episode 238, both of these conversations diving deep under the surface chatter and into meaningful topics for performance and life. After following Dave's recent 100-mile journey, Jess and BJ were inspired to bring him back onto the show, not just because he ran 100 miles but because of his mindset around this adventure, his training (up until three months ago, he never ran more than 5 miles and that was when he was in high school) and also because of his surprising takeaways including his reflection that with just three months of training, running 100 miles is not hard. Dave is the founder of Inside Out Strength. He holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and several strength, fitness, and performance certifications. Although all of that is very impressive, it's Dave's journey to finding his own strength and health, along with his unshakeable resolve, that makes him the very impressive ultrarunner, husband, dad, and human that so many have not just benefited from but come to love and deeply respect. In this episode: - Strong limiting thoughts - The text from BJ - Detachment tested - The race got canceled - The ripple effect - Show up for yourself to inspire others - The rare core values of today - Drowning in mediocrity - Balancing strength and 100-mile training - The hill that Dr. Dave will die on - Strength training vs mobility - Fueling for 100 miles - Takeaways - The most powerful place to look for answers
