A decade ago, with $600 to their names, Lance and his brother Tony started a race company. Without Limits Productions set its roots in Colorado with the Summer Open sprint distance triathlon, a race very much still in effect. These two guys followed a calling, put themselves on the line, risked failure and through continuous forward motion created a top notch event production company. Most recently, Lance bought out his brother Tony to become sole owner of Without Limits and also took over the iconic Boulder Peak Triathlon held every year in July. A race that BJ and I are quite familiar with from our Boulder days. When we heard that Lance, who we've known for years as we've raced his races for years, was taking it over there was no question that we would both be on the starting line on July 9th of this year. Lance is more than a race director, he's a community connector and the catalyst for change in many people's lives. He has had the pleasure of seeing participants climb the triathlon ladder from sprint all the way to half iron distance under his direction. He has such a deep love for the sport, growing up racing the Cape Cod triathlon series and eventually turning pro only to find a deeper curiosity behind the scenes of multi-sport events. Lance is no question in the right place, right now doing what he is supposed to be doing. He is for sure, living his purpose and through it, he's creating life transformative experiences for his racers. Lance shares his wisdom on the history of triathlon, the booms and the tanks of participation and why there are some things that he just won't compromise on. When Without Limits is putting their stamp on a race, you better believe that it will be well run and authentic to what Lance believes in and true to the trends in the sport. I highly recommend planning a trip to Boulder in July and race the Boulder Peak while you're there. We hope you enjoy this conversation, there's so much in here to take away so pay attention, listen with an open heart for the messages that are underlying the words and meant just for you.
