Civil Rights, Social Justice, these are realms that all of us know of, but few of us are really part of. There's a lot going on in our world. So many people are faced with oppression of all kinds and something needs to be done. Our guest today is a man who lives and speaks in this arena. Dr. David Stovall is a Professor of Educational Policy Studies and African-American Studies at UIC. He has worked first hand for more than 20 years in the heart of Chicago to figure out what needs to be done to reframe, reform and rebuild urban education and communities. I first saw Dave speak at a Leadership Conference for college student leaders. I was blown away by his fiery energy and passion. He literally leaped down from the stage and walked among us college students to share his practical advice on what it means to be truly alive. Dave is a man who is in the arena. He advocates doing the work instead of speaking about it only and this has taken him, and his students far. Join me today for an engaging conversation with Dave where you'll learn: What Dave's background taught him about the nature of long-term success. What is important to know about just talking versus truly. How to see your problems as potential-loaded solutions. and much more! Dave's Life Blueprint Dedication Commitment Honesty Transparency Willingness To Accept Mistakes and Contradictions Willingness To Improve Mistakes and Contradictions Tweet This! It's one thing to talk about things and another to do the work to make them happen. Dr. David Stovall with @zaydjawad Items Mentioned On This Episode Include: Martin Luther King Jr.'s Life Blueprint Speech, here. Steven Pressfield's book, Do The Work, get it here. Connect More With Dave Here! His Faculty Page on UIC here. SEE DAVE IN ACTION Until Next Time Thank you so much for joining this week on Your Life Blueprint Podcast.
