Meet the ever-inspiring Ryan Griffin, who started a program in his barber shop whereby kids get a discount if they read to him while getting their hair cut. He dropped off books at other barber shops in his small town to help encourage all kids to fall in love with reading. His story, which began with that first child reading to him, has now spread around the world.
But, as we discovered in this conversation, the Read to Your Barber Literacy Program simply scratches the surface of who Ryan Griffin really is, what he stands for, and what he'd still like to achieve. Join us as we chat about Black Lives Matter, race relations, and the "Black Wall Street Massacre," which happened 100 years ago in Tulsa, Oklahoma, yet is just now finally being talked about on a wide scale.
