Writer Tamara Kaye Sellman woke up one day at age 47 unable to read, though her vision was perfectly fine. This experience launched a medical investigation that ended in a multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2013. A mother of two 20-something daughters and married for 34 years, Tamara lives and works in a Puget Sound ferry town. She's a widely published writer and columnist who works in the field of patient advocacy and education. Her new book, INTENTION TREMOR, chronicles the five years of her life following her own diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2013, which occurred during her return to college to complete sleep technology certification. A journalist since the 1980s, Tamara holds two medical credentials in sleep medicine, both earned following her MS diagnosis in spite of its symptoms, which include reading, vision, and language deficits. She writes about sleep disorders in service to a broad range of chronic illness communities, including multiple sclerosis, and also pens a column that shares observations about life with MS for MultipleSclerosis.net.
