Life Workshop | Episode 42 | Receiving Feedback
Manage episode 356601669 series 3324473
It is very unfortunate that we tell our children that they are the smartest, cutest and best, when they are not. Till they join the real world and figure that out on their own, which can be very frustrating. We have to teach our children that everyone makes mistakes and they are no exception. Failure is not falling down, failure is not getting back up. Studies shows, the main key for success is Grit/Persistence, not IQ or where you come from and best environment. You are not perfect and you don't have to, you are not the best and you don't have to, and even the best are only the best for a short time. How we feel about other people's comments and feedback to us, depends mainly on the stories we tell ourselves. The way we take feedback affects our level of happiness and self confidence. Some don't take even a positive feedback e.g. you look good today, so you mean I looked terrible all other days, Being a good receiver of the feedback, not only changes you but also the perception of the feedback giver of you. Normally it increases job satisfaction and adaptation. Q: Do you seek feedback and do you welcome them or become defensive?
