#43 - "Ski Slopes to Shutdowns: Navigating Risks in Business"
Manage episode 396136241 series 3481763
Welcome to another episode of the Natural Born Leader Podcast! Fresh out of the gym and right into the grind of running a company – it's been a bit busier than I anticipated. Today, I want to share a recent skiing experience that taught me a valuable lesson about mitigating risks and reducing downsides.
In the entrepreneurial world, surviving for the long haul is more crucial than experiencing short-lived spikes of growth. This principle hit home when Meta shut down my ad account while I'm gearing up to spend $40,000 in the next four weeks. The setback didn't faze me. Instead, I swiftly redirected the budget to YouTube, prioritizing eyeballs over the cost per lead.
Drawing from my experience of posting over 800 YouTube videos in the last two and a half years, I've built a substantial audience across various platforms. This diversification shields me from the panic that comes with being solely dependent on a single platform. It's about earning attention, not just paying for it.
As I continue to navigate the challenges, it's a reminder to all entrepreneurs – don't rely solely on ad platforms. Build frameworks to grow and earn your audience. Mitigate risks, just as I did when deciding to pause skiing on the second day to ensure I didn't jeopardize my ability to keep working.
Join me on this journey as I share insights, lessons, and the day-to-day hustle. It's all about getting building release into the hands of as many people as possible. Stay tuned, stay inspired, and catch you on the flip side!
