Exercising while pregnant & why new mums should believe in themselves. Chemmy Alcott’s been described as one of Britain's greatest ever female skiers; she took the British champion title SEVEN times and is the ONLY British female to ever win a World Cup skiing run. But during her pregnancies and early motherhood, Chemmy experienced some negative judgement surrounding her decisions to continue physical training and return to work 10 days after having her first baby. Following a period of self-doubt, she realised how important it is for mothers to believe in themselves and to do what’s right for them and their families - regardless of what other people think. She’s launched a podcast revealing and discussing the realities of motherhood - the type of podcast she searched for when she was pregnant but couldn’t find. In this episode, you’ll discover… 🔹What it feels like to go from professional athlete to new mum 🔹How fellow gym-users reacted to Chemmy lifting weights while pregnant 🔹Why overtraining in her first pregnancy caused problems during childbirth 🔹How Chemmy dealt with negative judgement when she returned to work 10 days after giving birth 🔹The reason she’s proud of her 49 bone breaks 🔹How having an athlete’s mindset influenced her experience of pregnancy and childbirth 🔹Why she felt more attractive than ever whilst pregnant 🔹What Chemmy would love other new mums to realise 🔹Why she’s started a podcast covering the realities of motherhood 🔹How Chemmy’s mother’s death changed her attitude to life 🔹Why she believes young female athletes won’t admit they want to win 🔹And how her obsession with being the best was unstoppable, even at the age of 10 Read my article about Chemmy at healthhackers.uk
